wood, motor, solenoid, Arcade buttons, pipes, glaze on earthenware

Coming from an Asian country, I am very familiar with the strict parenting that often occurs in Asian society.

Children have to go to after-school programs when they are in elementary school; teenage suicides sometimes result from family pressure; sometimes it feels like nobody really cares about the children. Parents and schools try to put as much information as they can into the kid’s brain. Therefore, I hand sculpted each face of a child out of clay and encourage the audience to participate in the process of coloring them, to represent how I feel to the society.
